General information

MAIN is a Tekes funded two-year project. It is a continuation of a Discontinuous Innovation Project – Finland -research program that has been previously carried out in collaboration between IMI and Lappeenranta University of Technology. MAIN project belongs to the International Innovation Laboratory (ILab) -network which includes research partners from 11 countries.

MAIN project aims at identifying best practices and developing action models and methods for the control and management of intangible assets for the development of discontinuous and radical innovations. The main research question of the project is how control and management practices can be used to support and sustain the development of radical and discontinuous innovations and value creation by identification and exploitation of intangible assets? The project focuses on two different forms of generative intangible assets: internal and external innovation structures. Internal structures refer to the relationships between actors within an organization and external to the organization. From these premises, the need for organizational change and methods of change management are studied. Furthermore, the project aims to study how the policy makers can promote networking, collaboration and knowledge exchange within the society.
