The 16th International Continuous Innovation Network Conference – Pursuing Innovation Leadership– was held in Stockholm, Sweden on 13-15 September 2015 http://www.continuous-innovation.net/events/conferences/2015.html. The conference brought together researchers and industrialists working in the field of Continuous Innovation. The three-day program included industry and academia leading keynote speakers, themed sessions with academic presentations and workshops with both academic and industry participants.
Conference papers and presentations answered to the theme of the conference “Pursuing Innovation Leadership”. It reflects the need for firms to continuously find new ways to improve in order to stay at the forefront of innovation, and the important role that innovation leaders in different positions play in this work.
Doctoral Candidate Kirsi Polvinen, Mr. Jussi Pihlajamaa, Dr. Pekka Berg and Dr. Esa Viitamo from the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management as well as and Professor Jouni Partanen from the Department of Engineering Design and Production at Aalto University provided a full paper to the conference with the topic “How 3D Printing supports Business Development in Contract Manufacturing”. Kirsi Polvinen presented it in a track “Antecedents of (Radical) innovation. The presentation was considered interesting and created a lot of discussion.
